    Just a little update.
Not much done to the car since Vegas…A trip down to the Draper In-N-Out was about all the road it’s seen in the last 4 months or so. And I have been a bit reluctant to get it salty :slap:…but, been trying to get it street legal, with some minor issues…

    1- No horn…
I needed to add a contact ring to the column cover to give me my functional horn. My airbag wheel was set up inverse from the non-airbag S2 wheel. I could have just bought a correct version, but where’s the fun in that?…so here is the mod for the contact ring…some sheet metal cut and bonded and soldered to the spring terminal…

    Now the horn works!

2- Could not maintain RPM between 2000/2500 RPM for 30 seconds for the emissions test. This was a bit strange, but keep in mind this is a no load/non-moving test for AWD cars in Utah, so there is very little throttle resolution available to work with. I could not get it to maintain a constant value within that range at any throttle position. I could get it to slowly rise to the upper limit, but upon liftoff (the smallest lift I could manage), would fall below range and end the test. The lightweight flywheel is also not helping matters here. We tried about 10 times or so, and by that time I was backing up the line, so I called it quits. Maybe some stiction in the much more tightly bent throttle cable was causing this. I will try next by directly actuating the throttle plate during the test.

3- V-band leak(s)…despite making sure they were all flat, there are multiple leaks and the exhaust still needs some rerouting. First going to try the little aluminum gaskets and see if I can get rid of the leaks. That may help me get it to pass safety. I will re-route when I get some access to a lift and some warmth.

So, hopefully I get it street legal here soon and be able to get it to the next dyno day here coming up in April. Looking for about ~215 whp in current trim…or about ~180 whp on Ziptie’s dyno based on what I’ve seen…

Then it’s on to the strut braces, RS2 lights and mirrors, and keyless entry (which I probably should’ve installed when I had the wiring a little bit more exposed)…
